Hi! I'm James and I'm pursuing a career in coding.
Since July 2019 I've been exploring the world of software development - initially by diving into Ruby to create a website, and then switching to learn front-end when I heard about Founders and Coders.
I previously spent 8 years working in the construction and civil engineering industries, having completed a degree in civil engineering in Manchester, and further studying quantity surveying.
Working on some high profile projects in the UK and the Middle East.
I've spent the last few months working in the gig-economy: doing dog walking; domestic cleaning; DIY; etc.
As much as I love dog walking (and I do love dog walking), I'm keen to move back into a field of continuous learning and problem solving
Attracted to the coding industry as a way to solve many mundane day-to-day problems I encounter in work and in life, I'm also intruiged by the progressive attitude towards work and life-balance the industry seems to promote.
The friendly and positive attitude the FAC team and applicants have demonstrated has reinforced this idea for me.
